Tom's Burned Down Cafe Facebook Page Not a cafe really, but it WAS burned down. Another link.  A Madeline Island icon. Ask an islander for the story. Tom is a true philosopher, as the hand-painted signs scattered around the bar prove. Islanders, visitors, dogs and children can be found at Tom's during the day and early evening. Later on there is music, live usually on weekends, and the crowd gets rowdy and fun. A must-see if you visit the island!
